Who can attend?

This workshop is primarily geared towards teaching assistants who will be interacting with undergraduate students, e.g. those holding office hours or working in the Math Help Centre.
Instructors, tutors, or graduate students interested in math education are also encouraged to attend the workshop.

What is involved?

During the 90-minute workshop, we will develop concrete recommendations on how language can be used as a tool to increase student engagement and motivation. These recommendations are based on current psychological and pedagogical research and have been shown to have a significant positive effect. Coffee and cookies will be provided.

The workshop is also eligible for Future Prof credit for graduate students working towards the Certificate in University Teaching and Learning with the Teaching Support Centre.
